Hello, I’m Laura and I am the owner of Canny Cakes & Bakes!

I opened my pretty little shed at the end of May 2025 and wow what a launch to the business it’s been!

I uprooted up north from a little town in the county of Dorset nearly 5 years ago. In November 2024 I gave birth to my 3rd little girl. Whilst on Maternity leave from my accounts job I decided to open up a cake shed, after seeing similar concepts down south where I’m from. I’ve always loved baking for family and friends and creating cakes for my children’s birthdays! I was worried though, where I’m from is very rural - and I was worried about the risk of opening an ‘honesty box’ in the city and whether it would work.

Fast forward 4 months and it couldn’t have gone any better! What I thought would be a small enterprise to help boost my maternity leave turned into something much greater! And I’ve now handed in my notice at my job and I’m taking this on full time. Crazy!

I have soo many plans for the future of the business and I cannot thank you enough for all your support. Without you, the business wouldn’t be thriving like it is today and I’m forever grateful!
